Gachagua Bridges the Gap Between Ruto and Mt. Kenya Region

Gachagua’s Unity Bid Gains Momentum in Mt. Kenya Region

The Deputy President of Kenya, Rigathi Gachagua, has received overwhelming support from various stakeholders in the Mt. Kenya region for his efforts to unite the country and strengthen the Ruto Administration. This was evident during the closing ceremony of the Mt. Kenya Golf Festival tournament that took place at the Nyeri Golf Club on Saturday evening.

The event was attended by businessmen and women, professionals and political leaders from the 10 counties in Mt. Kenya region, including members of the Jubilee Party that is affiliated to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta. They praised Gachagua for his leadership and promised to work with him and the Kenya Kwanza administration ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Nyeri Town MP Maina Mathenge and Trade and Investments expert Daniel Wamahiu urged Gachagua to follow the footsteps of former President Mwai Kibaki, who was the patron of the club and played golf for 40 years. They said that Gachagua should make the golf tournament an annual event and continue with Kibaki’s legacy because he is their leader.

Acting Jubilee Party Secretary-General and EALA MP Kanini Kega said that they were coming together as Mt. Kenya leaders behind the Deputy President and addressing their political and economic interests such as unemployment.

Gachagua, who was accompanied by Governors Mutahi Kahiga (Nyeri), Muthomi Njuki (Tharaka Nithi), Joshua Irungu (Laikipia), Dr Irungu Kang’ata (Murang’a), Nyeri Deputy Governor David Kinaniri and Senators Wahome Wamatinga (Nyeri), Kamau Murango (Kirinyaga), John Methu (Nyandarua), John Kinyua (Laikipia) Tabitha Karanja (Nakuru) and Veronica Maina (Nominated) among others, said that he wanted all Kenyans to be one team, one people for the development of the country since the elections are over.

He said that he had invited the 13 per cent of the region who voted against President William Ruto in the last elections to join him and work together for their region and country because there is no enmity or quarrel. He said that election is like a sport and should not be taken beyond there.

The Deputy President also thanked the organizers of the golf tournament and congratulated the winners. He said that golf is a sport that promotes peace, unity and development. He encouraged more people to participate in such events in future.
